THANG CHAU, Pharm.D. Candidate

Thang is currently a third-year pharmacy student at Texas Southern University and received his bachelor's degree in nutrition from the University of Houston. He was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and grew up in Alief Houston, Texas. Growing up, he was constantly sick, and a pharmacist was the only person his father was able to have access to for medical advice since they could not afford insurance. His community pharmacist’s care and professionalism are what inspired him to pursue a career in pharmacy. Since joining VAPhA in 2019, together with Dr. Stephen Au, Thang enjoyed doing health fairs and giving back to the community, especially the Vietnamese community in Houston. His goal is to motivate his fellow TSU PharmD candidates to join VAPhA, protect the local community and make it the healthiest community.
